Launch of the HLA Digital Learning Lab

HLA Digital Learning Lab

Leveraging new digital technologies to amplify the impact of local humanitarian efforts

We are excited to announce the launch of the Humanitarian Leadership Academy Digital Learning Lab – a new initiative that aims to leverage new digital technologies to amplify the impact of local humanitarian efforts.

Our mission is to establish the Digital Learning Lab as a centre of excellence for digital technology innovation, strengthening and sharing digital capacity of local actors and driving the development of effective and scalable digital solutions.

This initiative builds on our experience and expertise in designing and developing capacity strengthening online learning resources, including our digital learning platform Kaya. This groundbreaking, free-to-use platform was introduced to the sector in 2016 and is now utilised by over 700,000 humanitarians in 195 countries.

The Digital Learning Lab will deliver case studies showcasing innovations that will be developed as minimal viable products to demonstrate their impact, practicality, and scalability.

To mark the launch of the Digital Learning Lab, we are releasing two case studies demonstrating the potential of QR codes and augmented reality to deliver training at the point of need.

These easy-to-read case studies will show you how you can start to solve real-world problems, and will serve as guides for others to replicate similar innovations. The guides will be shared through social media, blogs, and internal communications to ensure wide dissemination and impact.

The HLA’s Digital Learning Lab is a bold step in improving digital learning and capacity exchange in humanitarian contexts settings. We invite you to collaborate with us in innovating, and creating and scaling solutions that will make a real difference in humanitarian service delivery.
