SOLVE: Strengthening Organisations for Lasting Voice and Effect project has been launched in Ukraine

On 30-31 July, the participants of the SOLVE: Strengthening Organisations for Lasting Voice and Effect project met in person for the first time at the launch event in Kyiv, Ukraine.

This project is implemented by ISAR Ednannia, one of the biggest and most experienced civil society organisations (CSOs) in Ukraine, in partnership with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) and Save the Children. The project aims to empower local civil society organisations by strengthening their capacity, resilience and impact to achieve a lasting impact in their communities. As part of the project, 20 CSOs will get training in project and financial management, fundraising basics, and communicating with key audiences and within teams.

During the launch meeting, more than 40 representatives from 20 civil society organisations from all over Ukraine spent two days getting to know each other, presenting the work of their CSOs, and identifying priorities and expectations from the project.

This project is very important for us because we understand that as a CSO, we need to engage in continuous organisational development. We realise that [we need this] if we want to grow, develop, improve. This helps us to support more people.
Halyna Kharlamova, Head of Humanitarian Aid Centre Volunteer 68, Kharkiv, Ukraine

Prior to the launch, ISAR Ednannia experts conducted an external assessment of the organisational development of the selected CSOs and identified the areas needing attention for each organisation.

All organisations were very active, made an objective self-assessment to work on themselves, become stronger and provide their services better
Olha Nikolska, organisational development expert, Head of the Development of Philanthropic Culture at ISAR Ednannia

Strengthening communities’ resilience is one of the main pillars of the HLA’s work. Together with Save the Children, we partnered with ISAR Ednannia to support local CSOs in Ukraine, as their self-sufficiency is extremely important during humanitarian crises.

Cooperation with ISAR Ednannia is essential for us. It provides comprehensive organisational support for CSOs. We are convinced that these investments will pay off a hundredfold and will strengthen CSOs and the communities in which they work
Anastasiia Korobchuk, Learning Solutions Specialist at Humanitarian Leadership Academy

SOLVE: Strengthening Organisations for Lasting Voice and Effect project will run until January 2025.
