Experience
I have over 16 years’ experience in the humanitarian sector and currently work as Head of Coaching with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy. I lead an ambitious and complex senior leadership and coaching portfolio spanning both internally and externally developing and ensuring a coherent and comprehensive coaching offer is available for humanitarian staff.
Previously I was Global Head of Humanitarian Education for Save the Children and the Director of the Humanitarian Technical Unit. I began my career as a Humanitarian Education Response Advisor deploying to a vast array of complex, protracted and sudden-onset humanitarian crises as part of SC’s Global Emergency response team.
I am passionate about people, professional development and capacity strengthening and developed the first inter-agency accredited Education in Emergencies Certificate of Advanced Studies. I am a qualified coach, as well as an Associate Trainer with RedR, Mentor and facilitator, focused on individual, team and leadership coaching. I am currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Coaching.
One thing to know
I love the outdoors; mountains, beaches, woodland or open fields. It’s maybe helpful that I live on a farm and take every opportunity to walk and explore it!
My favourite learning resource
Nancy Kline “Time to Think”.
If you haven’t read it, I would highly recommend it. It will change the way you run meetings, how you listen and how you work with and lead teams!!
