Looking to the future: The situation of social organisations supporting refugees in Poland

Thank you for attending our Shift webinar.

The HLA collaborated with Klon/Jawor Association to conduct a comprehensive study on NGOs aiding refugees in Poland.

During this webinar our panellists talked about the research findings and insights into current state, needs, and challenges of the local organisations supporting refugees in Poland. They also discussed recommendations to support these organisations.

Some key findings from the research study are that:

  • Persistent financial instability affects 75% of organisations, causing staff reductions and reliance on short-term funds.
  • Staff burnout impacts nearly 60% of organisations; more systematic solutions are needed despite current preventative measures.
  • Expanded networking with other civil society organisations, local communities, and INGOs has been a significant positive development.
  • Greater government involvement, sustainable funding, and comprehensive anti-burnout measures are essential to address systemic challenges.
